Saint Jude was one of the 12 apostles of Jesus. He was also known as Thaddeus. The canonical Letter of Jude, which warns against blasphemy and heretics, is attributed to him. According to Biblical scholars, St. Jude was related Jesus Christ. His father was Clopas whose mother is Mary, who was a cousin of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
He preached throughout Judea, Samaria, Idumaea, Syria, Mesopotomia, and Lybia. During the Last Supper, he was the one who asked Jesus Christ why He would not manifest Himself after His resurrection.
St. Jude is often portrayed with a flame around his head, which signifies that he is present during Pentecost. Some of his images also portray him as holding an image of Jesus Christ.
